Third Annual Daniel Ranalli Lecture
The 2024 Ranalli Lecture Featuring Longtime ICA Director Jill Medvedow [h] The 2024 Ranalli Lecture Featuring Longtime ICA Director Jill Medvedow [h] The Arts Administration program at Boston University’s Metropolitan College is proud to welcome longtime Institute of Contemporary Arts, Boston director Jill Medvedow as the speaker for the third annual Daniel Ranalli Lecture. Recognized nationally as a leader of contemporary art and civic life, during her more than 25-year tenure with the ICA, Medvedow has dramatically altered the landscape for contemporary art in Boston—particularly when she opened the Institute’s Seaport location, the city’s first new art museum in a century. She also began the museum’s permanent collection; developed a national model for teen arts education; and opened the ICA Watershed, transforming a condemned former factory into a free space for immersive works of art. Under her leadership, the ICA produced numerous influential exhibitions and generated new scholarship and directions in the arts as well as supporting women artists and artists underrepresented in the art-historical canon. Established by the Arts Administration program in 2022, the Ranalli Lecture Series invites senior leaders in the arts to share their perspectives, outlooks, and lessons learned over long careers with MET students. The event is complimentary and open to the public. A reception will follow. Please register as space is limited.
