Religion Department Annual Lecture
Please join us for the Religion Department Annual Lecture on March 20th at 5pm! The lecture will be held at 610 Commonwealth Ave, Room 101. Liz Bucar will present “What is Religious Appropriation? Who Does It, and Why Does it Matter” Liz Bucar earned her Ph.D. in religious ethics from the University of Chicago. She is Professor of Religion and Dean’s Leadership Fellow at Northeastern University, where she is also the director of Sacred Writes, a grant-funded project that provides media training for religion scholars. She is author of four books, including the award-winning Stealing My Religion: Not Just Any Cultural Appropriation (Harvard University Press, 2022).
