Custom, Religion, and the Advancement of Women's Rights in Afghanistan

This presentation explores the dual role of custom in relation to women's rights in Afghanistan. Although custom may hinder gender equality, it can also serve as a medium for empowerment if approached from a perspective that incorporates gender awareness. The talk highlights the importance of engaging with custom and tailoring gender-focused initiatives to align with cultural subtleties, emphasizing the value of a culturally sensitive strategy towards realizing gender empowerment.
