The Beth Morrison Project
The Boston University Opera Institute and Orchestral Programs are honored to be part of a series of workshops in advance of the premiere of Beth Morrison Projects “Ouroboros Trilogy” in 2017. Beth Morrison’s invitation for Boston University to participate in these workshop presentations demonstrates a recognition that our program is uniquely in line with the 21st century opera aesthetic, emphasizing new works combined with an innovative approach to the training and performance of opera. Opera Institute singers and members of the Boston University Orchestra will present excerpts from Scott Wheeler’s “Naga” and Paola Prestini’s “Gilgamesh”, all inspired by the incredible imagination of librettist Ceris Jacobs. Julian Wachner (CFA '91, '96) and Matthew Scinto (CFA ‘19) will conduct. This event is free and open to the public.
