Elmer Rice's THE ADDING MACHINE
Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre presents THE ADDING MACHINE. By Elmer Rice. Directed by Tim Spears. After 25 years at his job, Mr. Zero—an accountant at a large, faceless company—discovers that he will be replaced by an adding machine. In anger and pain, he snaps and kills his boss. A landmark of American Expressionism, Rice's 1923 play takes us through Mr. Zero’s arrest, trial, and execution going into the afterlife—in the "Elysian Fields."Boston University Theatre264 Huntington Avenue$12 General Public | $10 BU Alumni, WGBH and WBUR members, Huntington Subscribers | $6 CFA Membership | Free with BU ID, at the door, day of performance, subject to availabilitybostontheatrescene.com | 617-933-8600
