Speaker: Donna Pincus, associate professor of psychological and brain sciencesDr. Donna Pincus will present a Discoveries lecture on topics covered in her book, Growing Up Brave. With social and academic pressures at an all time high, one in five children today suffer from a diagnosed anxiety disorder, and many others go undiagnosed. More children than ever are being prescribed psychotropic drugs. Dr. Pincus demonstrates that excessive anxiety is manageable and even preventable when parents learn how to identify and understand it, and to respond by using convenient and simple parenting techniques.
