Terriers Take to the Streets
Icemen celebrate their NCAA title
| From BU Today | By Art JahnkeGet the Flash Player to see this media.
From Kenmore Square to Marsh Chapel, Comm Ave became an ocean of red and white BU spirit last week at midday as the Terrier men's hockey team — also known as the 2009 NCAA champions — celebrated their winningest season ever with a Duck Tour parade.
Thousands of fans turned out, and many more watched a live streaming of the event online. In fact, so many fans watched the live stream that BU servers were hard put to support the rush of traffic.
If you missed it, even a snippet, here’s your chance to catch a replay.

If you want something badly enough and are willing to work for it, without ever giving up, then you will achieve it. These are the character lessons that Jack Parker has been teaching young men for many years on and off the ice. It sometimes goes unnoticed when fame doesn't coincide in any given year but you can be sure it serves them well and prepares them for life after college when it can count even more. I've always been proud to have been a Terrier student-athlete and proud of the University in many ways. Now, everyone knows why. GO BU!

Go Terriers, I'm in the deep south still cheering for BU. I second the motion we need to bring back football. I was at BU when they played in the Rose Bowl in 69. The students deserve a full sports program.

That triple threat quarterback was hot when I graduated. Forgot his name. I'm 85 in 7 days. Maybe that's got something to do with it. They played powerhouse Maryland in football then ....1948 or 49

I was at the parade and rally today and what a grand sight - a beautiful day, about 3-4000 fans, mostly students, everyone in great spiritsand cheering, great speakers, the BU band and the BU national champions sign in front of Marsh Chapel.
I was also in Washington and you can't believe the celebration there. It was awesome!
It doesn't get any better than this. Now could be a great time to talk football.

I second the motion of bringing back the football program. People are passionate about BU and the hockey team has shown how important a successful, well-run program is to a school. Congratulations Terriers! You've made us all very proud. I watched all the games. Fantastic! I was at the home games during our 1971 and 1972 championship seasons. 2 goals in 59 seconds - unbelievable. I hope this is the omen that Chris Drury (BU 1995 championship team) will lead the NY Rangers to the Stanley Cup. Congrats!
