Interested in becoming a Curriculum Coordinator in the future? Wondering how our Curriculum Coordinators are selected, and what the role involves?

Serving as curriculum coordinator is a great opportunity to see the WP from a new vantage point, work with a wide range of colleagues, gain some administrative experience, and have an impact on the direction of the program. Duties include mentoring new faculty members, reviewing syllabi for new courses, updating resources, sending out Exercise of the Week, and editing Deerfield, as well as the possibility of working on a variety of special curricular projects (possibly facilitating a faculty seminar, etc.). The position comes with one course release per year. Curriculum coordinators serve three years, with one of our three coordinators (ideally) rotating out each year. One curriculum coordinator will be someone who specializes in teaching our ELL courses (WR 111 and WR 112) and supporting faculty in the teaching of those courses.  Some summer and winter break work is required, but most of it can be done on your own schedule.

Calls will go out to all full-time lecturers for brief self-nominations once a year or when a current coordinator rotates out, whichever comes sooner; the director team will select the curriculum coordinator in consultation with current coordinators.
