Senior Lecturer, Philosophy
Derek Egan Anderson (B.A., Rutgers University; Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin) works in a wide range of research areas including philosophical logic, feminist epistemology, social epistemology, philosophy of race and gender, philosophy of language, and the history of analytic philosophy. He also dabbles in philosophy of mind, philosophy of art, philosophical methodology, metaphysics, philosophy of cognitive science, and experimental philosophy. His most recent book is Metasemantics, Intersectionality, and Truth in the Misinformation Age, published in September 2021 with Palgrave Macmillan. Derek started teaching at BU in 2015. His regular courses include Reason & Argumentation (PH 160), Introduction to Ethics (PH 150), and Introduction to Philosophy (PH 100). He also regularly teaches Philosopy of Mind Brain and Self in the Spring and Philosophy of Gender & Sexuality in the Fall.
