Cavitation in fuel injectors
Research was performed under the DOE Grant entitled: “Development and multiscale validation of Euler-Lagrange based computational methods for modeling cavitation within fuel injectors.”
As part of this project, a new cavitation model for use with VOF (implemented into OpenFOAM) was developed. The new model provides accurate dependence on nuclei size and concentration and allows for better transient cavitation behavior. Several papers have been written related to this project. Check out the publications area of the website.
