Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I become a SAGE member?
A: As a graduate student in the BU College of Engineering or Bioinfomatics program, you are automatically a SAGE member.

Q: Where do I get my SAGE sticker?
A: Head to the Graduate Programs Office (GPO) to get your SAGE sticker. The GPO is located in ERB 114. Inside the first-floor lobby from the main entrance, take a left through the double doors and head down to the end of the hallway. It’s the last door on your right (Room 114).

Q: How do I get more involved in SAGE?
A: We hold elections for student representatives at the beginning of the fall semester and the end of the spring semester. Be sure to keep an eye out for our September Newsletter (in the fall) and April Newsletter (in the spring) for specific instructions on how to get involved.

Q: It’s Friday afternoon and no email has been sent out for Pub Night. Will there be one tonight?
A: When in doubt, check the Calendar. It will always be updated with the latest and most accurate Pub Night dates.

Q: What is the SAGE guest policy?
A: In general, SAGE members are limited to one guest per SAGE event. Since SAGE is directly funded by SAGE members via a portion of the community service fee, a majority of tickets are reserved for SAGE members and SAGE members typically pay a lower price than guests. Please note that there are some events at which guests not are allowed and others where people may bring more than one guest. Please read event emails carefully to determine the number of guests allowed.

Q: SAGE does not currently have this event. How do I make it happen?
