God bless you and your family. You were a role model for us younger students while at BU and in our fraternity ZBT.

Joey was as classy an individual as one could ever hope to meet. I was friendly with him in college and then in NY where he was widely known to be the guy that had it all...looks, brains, personality, heart and soul. He was the complete package of what represents us all about what is good about humanity. He will be sorely missed by many, and spoken of admirably forever. My prayers go to his family, as they do to all the unsuspecting victims of this tragedy both living and passed on. Have faith that there a lightness within which they are now enveloped. God bless.

Joey- No words can describe the lose we all have knowing that we have to wait until the other side to laugh and smile with you again. It's hard to believe it almost a year to the day.... how the world has changed since you left. Though we haven't spoken in quite a while, not a day goes by that I don't reflect on the days we were in camp pretending we were Rocky and Apollo Creed... or walking from Cory T's house to Randy's house in the dark talking smack about not being afraid of the dark. And don't forget the original P-Patrol either... I love you bro.. see you on the other side.

It's been over a year now, and the joy and memories Joe and I created as good friends, is begining to surpass the grief of having lost him.
For those of you who knew Joey, perhaps you understand what I'm saying. For those of you who did not know him, then you have missed out on something. He was a great friend, generous to a fault, and a strength of character stronger than any skyscaper. He is with me always.

To his family,
Joe was a leader, a man that had integrity and most of all he loved his family. How would I know this fact? I was one of his best friends since 3rd grade, we went to Eldorado, then SV JrHigh and then graduated HS. We played football together and I spent lots of time with him and Palmer. I really have to say he was an inspiration to me, he was uplifting, athletic and very genuine. I wish we could take back that day so much because they were innocent people with real lives. I hope and pray for his surviving family and we shall never forget him. God rest your soul Joe. Dan Candelaria. dancandelaria@comcast.net

Joe- It's hard to believe that it has been over 6 years since that fateful day. My father joined you in heaven just over 1 year ago. I know you are both up there working as GOD's angels. We just had our 20 year high school reunion. It was an amazing experience, but everyone misses you. I hope and pray that your family is well and know in my heart that you are watching over them. I miss you brother. Love, Cory

People come and go in our lives every day. When we take some time to reflect our past only the ones that left their mark still stay vividly in our memories. Joey, you were that kind of a person.
