21st Annual Graduate Research Symposium

January 13th, 2025 in News

On December 13th, graduate trainees, their advisors and other faculty from the QBP, TRB, SB2 and BFC training programs gathered for the 21st Annual Graduate Research Symposium. We started with talks from some of our fantastic trainees and then heard a fascinating keynote lecture on nuclear mechanobiology from Dr. Jan Lammerding (Cornell). The event was capped off with trainee poster session and networking. Congratulations to the following trainees who were recognized with oral and poster awards this year:

Best Oral Presentations:

  • Sydney Bailes
  • Gabrielle Grifno

Best Poster Presentations:

  • Caitlin Colicchio
  • Audrey Van Heest and Megan Hopton (co-first-authors)

Keynote speaker Jan Lammerding, Ph.D. of Cornell University presents at the 21st annual BME QBP, TRB, SB2, BFC Research Symposium. The Lammerding laboratory has made significant contributions to the emerging field of ‘nuclear mechanobiology’ by integrating biomedical engineering approaches with cell and molecular biology techniques.
