Information is the cornerstone of the University’s teaching, research, and administrative efforts. Although much of that information is open to the world, some of it is highly sensitive and therefore protected by laws and University policies.
Information Security is the best resource for understanding what data must be protected and how to protect it. Information Security’s webpage features many resources available for the University community, including advice about everything from cybersecurity resources, to information about securing your devices, to choosing a strong password, to avoiding phishing attacks, and documentation regarding BU’s policies, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, Information Security sponsors events survey and programming around Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Security How-To’s, and shred and recycle events.
