Abstract Context
Commentary & Paraphrase
Sjt Catesby: one cannot lease his hunting ground (garenne) for a term of years without a deed, notwithstanding that it (warren) be a chattel, no more than one can grant his presentment 'for this time' (hac vice) without a deed, etc. (plaintiff's position)
Choke JCP: in your case one cannot bind a presentment without a deed, but yet the parson (person) can well lease the tithes without a deed, etc.
(assumption that ordinarily a chattel could be leased without a deed)
