Sjt Cottesmore: Madwed Montague, predecessor Abbess of Barking, and all predecessors had out of a hide (or half hide) of land in the vill of K. 40 shillings of rent payable twice per year, at the feasts of Easter and St. Michael (= 29 Sept.) by equal portions, of which rent the said Madwed Montague was seised, and of a right to distrain from time immemorial
