Plaintiff grammar school masters were accustomed to to take for an infant 40 pence (3 shillings 4 pence) or 2 shillings per quarter.
After defendant opened a competing grammar school, plaintiff masters took only 12 pence per quarter for an infant
In 1443.082 = Mich. 22 Hen. 6, pl. 23, fol. 14a-15a Sjt Prysot (for D) said, Sir, such a case as is now at the bar was brought in our books (1410.021 = Hil. 11 Hen. 4, pl. 21, fol. 47a-47b) claiming a schoolhouse to be held in a vill by prescription, and that no others ought to hold schools within the vill, and showed now the defendant had raised a schoolhouse within the vill, and the writ was abated, etc. |
