Summary

Life Changes in an Instant: A Caretaker's Journey

Description

Lee Woodruff garnered critical acclaim for the compelling and humorous chronicle of her family’s journey to recovery following her husband Bob Woodruff’s roadside bomb injury in Iraq. Appearing together on national television and radio since the February 2007 publication of their book, "In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing," the couple has helped put a face on the serious issue of traumatic brain injury among returning Iraq war veterans. Following Bob’s injury and miraculous recovery, together they founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Remind.org to assist wounded servicemen and their families receive the long-term care that they need and help them successfully reintegrate into their communities. Lee’s second book," Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress" has also been a #1 New York Times best-seller. There a reception following the lecture in the Setterberg Lounge, 2nd floor. This annual lecture is named after the behavioral specialist and SAR alumna Meredith E. Drench who established the Meredith E. Drench Lectureship Fund, Sargent College’s first endowed lecture series, to share her passion and belief in “compassionate rehabilitation” of the whole person.
