Description

David Makovsky is the Ziegler distinguished fellow and director of The Washington Institute's Project on the Middle East Peace Process. He is an adjunct lecturer in Middle Eastern Studies at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. Makovsky is the co-author with Dennis Ross of "Myths, Illusions, and Peace: Finding a New Direction in the Middle East." He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies. His commentary on the peace process and the Arab-Israeli conflict has appeared in newspapers around the country and the world, including: the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Chicago Tribune, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, and National Interest. He appears frequently in the media outlets to comment on the Arab-Israeli affairs, including PBS's Newshour with Jim Lehrer. Light refreshments will be served.
