The Buddhist monk Sen-no Rikyu, tea master to the warrior Hideyoshi Toyotomi, is forced to commit hara-kiri after disagreeing with Toyotomi's plan to invade China.
Celebrating 50 years of the Boston-Kyoto city sisterhood, this series will be screening a diverse variety of films, from classics of the past (particularly three films set in Kyoto) to more recent masterpieces.
Seating is limited (58 seats); on a first-come, first-served basis.
