Boston University Palestine Film Festival: "Jenin, Jenin"

Summary

Boston University Palestine Film Festival: "Jenin, Jenin"

Description

The 2nd annual Boston University Palestine Film Festival is proud to present cultural and political films about life in Occupied Palestine. Our final night we will be screening "Jenin, Jenin" which is an excellent film that includes testimony from Jenin residents after the Israeli army's Defensive Wall operation, during which the city and camp were the scenes of fierce fighting. The operation ended with Jenin flattened and scores of Palestinians dead. Palestinians as well as numerous human rights groups accused Israel of committing war crimes in the April 2002 attack on the refugee camp. "Jenin Jenin" shows the extent to which the prolonged oppression and terror has affected the state of mind of the Palestinian inhabitants of Jenin. Films will be running all week (Oct 12-15) in a different on-campus location (see full schedule listed below). Light refreshments will be served at all showings. *Schedule for the Week* Tuesday October 12: Jerusalem: East Side Story, 7-9PM, GSU Back Court; Wednesday October 13: To Shoot an Elephant, 7-9PM, CAS 211; Thursday October 14: Double Feature: 25,000 Tents and Thyme Seller, 7-9PM, SED 130; Friday October 15: Jenin, Jenin, 7-9PM, CAS 211.
