Nathan Bérubé

Hailing from l’Université Laval in Quebec, where he studies Physical Engineering, Nathan was thrilled to further explore his love of research at the REU program this summer. Since he was a kid, when he enjoyed inspective flowers and insects, he has followed his passion for research to a STEM CEGEP after high school and eventually to the REU program.

This summer, Nathan worked under PI Jermone Mertz in the Biomicroscopy Lab on “3D Super-Resolution Widefield Microscope with Speckle Illumination.” The project designed a microscope to improve high-quality imaging techniques for 3D objects without sacrificing detail.

Nathan plans to continue pursuing his love of research by applying to programs next summer, followed by a PhD after finishing his bachelor’s degree.
