Christopher Alba

Christopher Alba grew up in the Bronx and the Dominican Republic, and now teaches physics at Revere High School. In 2018 he graduated from Boston University with a master’s in education; he has been in teaching roles ever since.

In the Summer of 2024, Chris worked in the Bifano Lab with PI Thomas Bifano and Graduate Mentor Francisco Sanchez on the project “High Throughput Calcium Imaging for Beating Heart Tissue Characterization.” Chris collaborated with REU Sebastian Martinez to improve the framerate of a microscope system built for high throughput constraints. By capturing higher framerate images, the microscope will eventually be able to distinguish between healthy and diseased heart cells.
