2026 REU Project: Explainable foundation model framework for Autism characterization from EEG signals.


Professor Venkataraman’s research integrates medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and clinical neuroscience to study brain dysfunction. As PI of the Neural Systems Analysis Laboratory, she develops computational models that combine hypothesis-driven neuroscience with data-driven learning to produce interpretable, predictive insights. Her work spans foundational and translational neuroimaging research, advancing understanding of disorders such as autism, epilepsy, and schizophrenia, with the long-term goal of improving patient care.
