Xiaoran Yue

Xiaoran (Modric) is studying Optics at the University of Rochester, where he has accumulated research experiences in quantum optics and physics, we well as multiple mathematics and microscopy courses. Following his time at Boston University, he plans to apply for PhD.

Enhanced Contrast of Secondary Protein Structures with Time Resolved Mid-Infrared Photothermal Microscopy: Xiaoran’s research in the Ultrafast Optics Laboratory, led by PI Michelle Sander, focused on 3D label-free photothermal imaging of fibroblast cells in collagen matrices. The overall goal was to image and visualize fibroblastics cells in 3D while removing the background while absorbing. His mentor was Panagis Samolis.
