Linrui Tan

Linrui Tan is from Guangzhou China and is in his Junior year studying Optics at the University of Rochester, a competitive program that accepts only about 40 students a year.

This summer, Linrui worked in the High Dimensional Photonics Lab with PI Siddharth Ramachandran on “Optimization of Four-Wave Mixing.” The project utilized machine learning to optimize four-wave mixing processes, in order to prove stronger laser signals for optimal imaging.

Following his undergraduate education, Linrui is applying both to earn a PhD in Optics at Boston University, as well as an MS in Philosophy in either Hong Kong or Singapore.
