Courtney Chavez

Courtney Chavez is a freshman studying Computer Science and Math at Oregon State University. During her time as an REU, she enjoyed further exploring her creative passion for combining math and science. Originally from New Mexico, Courtney was excited to enjoy Boston’s beaches and the Charles River.
This summer, Courtney worked in the Ranzani Lab under PI Tommaso Ranzani on the project “User Interface for Electronic Control of a Bio Inspired Soft Robot.” The goal of the project was to develop a soft robot octopus designed to collect samples on the ocean floor.
Courtney is excited to continue exploring her love of research throughout the rest of her undergraduate studies.
