Nahuel Acosta

Before moving to Medford at 13, Nahuel Acosta grew up in Canelones, Uruguay. Upon coming to the United States, he found he was dissatisfied with the Shelter ESL classes and decided to push himself out of his comfort zone, teaching himself the necessary material for his courses. In addition to this experience, finding difficulty with the way physics was taught in college motivated him to go into education.

This summer, Nahuel worked in the Bishop lab with David Bishop and Ian Bouchard on building a new highly-sensitive force sensor, based on a technology called coupled oscillators. Nahuel created simulations of the working principle behind these new sensors to better understand the design space in preparation for the creation of the first prototypes.
