nature so sought after by the sages through the ages. Giving oneself up
in harmony to the swelling wave is like returning to the bosom of our
mother the sea . Surfing also keeps us in touch with the immateriality of
the material for such is the nature of waves which move through the
water and constantly leave it behind. Waves are also the nature of
physical life whose cosmic energy moves through the material of the
flesh and leaves it behind the scientific basis of these genetic rhythms
has been expounded
to
us by our great microbiologist Dr. Frankenstein
whose researches have unlocked the secrets of life itself. The kindly if
eccentric Dr. Frankenstein who has taught us how to create ourselves in
finer and finer harmony with the rhythms of the cosmos is universally
regarded here in Israel as a father and a great sage indeed some regard
him as a visitor from another part of the cosmos though he gently
ridicules this notion certain ofhis eccentricities lend it a certain amount
of credence in particular the strange appearance of his fingernails
which are long and claw-like and painted in V shaped stripes of red
white and blue and also his habit of breaking into an incomprehensible
gibberish some say a higher language without warning or transition in
the middle of a sentence.
It
is from Dr. Frankenstein that we learned
the basic sexual nature of energy enabling us
to
eroticize all of our
pursuits. Great slow waves of rhythmic energy while at the same time
escaping that frantic sexuality which acts as a morbid irritant beyond
the borders ofIsrael. The phone is ringing. I answer it a suave female
voice tells me the President is on the wire it's Robert he wants me to
visit him at the Western White House what he calls his heliocopter is
already on the way . Before I know it I'm in the heliocopter a small trim
machine skimming over the diffy coast to Newport Beach a rich yacht
suburb of the jet set halfway between Los Angeles and San Clemente it
sets me down on the Presidential beach Robert is dressed in a bathing
suit and earmuffs he's been surfing as we all do in Israel when
something heavy is on our minds. A word about the earmuffs tumor
has it that Robert is seen so often in his red earmuffs because they trans–
mit messages from some occult source this is definitely not the case
there is nothing weird involved except perhaps a kind of innocent
vanity I'm happy
to
clear that up . Robert is troubled about sexuality he
wants to know how we handle this matter in The Wave not so much on
a personal basis you understand but on the level of policy and meta–
physics . Of course I'm always glad
to
toss this kind of thing around
