We, the undersigned, endorse the following state–
ment, signed by a group of English writers {including A.
J. Ayer, Alan Bullock, Henry Moore, V. S. Pritchett, An–
drew Shonfield, John Wain, Arnold Wesker, Angus Wil–
son, and others} protesting the persecuti.on of the Polish
intellectuals by the Polish Government:
"In response to a letter signed by 34 leading intel–
lectuals, delivered to Mr. Cyrankiewicz

testing against the current press censorship, the Polish
Government has banned a number of the signatories from
appearances on radio and televisi,on and from any kind
of publication in book or peri,odical form.
