THE SON OF GOD
1.
Lead him about. Tell him
Stars is soft. Sing lullaby.
Lock him up in lawns.
Make toys. Comb in his curls
To keep away the paler boys.
Place him among narcissi.
Sing lullaby.
2.
Confound him.
Drown his question.
Take him to the priest.
Shame him. Tell him
He is a Jew. Tell him
Karl Marx when he talks.
Tell him Judas Iscariot
When he kisses. Sew up
His eyelids. Open them
When they are webbed.
Then let him go. Tell him
Words is wind. Get him
A job. Raise him.
Get him a wife. Raise him.
Teach him America.
Fire him. Take him
To the priest. Take him
To a lawyer. Jail him.
Confound him.
