Sirs:
I like the idea of publishing every two
months instead of quarterly-also the re–
duction
in
price. There is no magazine
quite like pARTISAN REVIEW on the mar–
ket to my knowledge, and the more often
it is published-at the same high stand–
ard, of course, which is very high!-the
better. My renewal subscription will fol–
low
in
a few days.
Sirs:
Very truly yours,
ARTHUR BLAIR,
Pittsburg, Kansas.
I was a bit doubtful whether I should
be able to renew my subscription. Every–
thing is so unsettled, and I wasn't sure
if
I should be staying on in Ireland. Of
course, we're neutral here, but nobody
seems yet to have quite decided who we're
going to be neutral against. In these
days with so many English and French
publications ceasing or prostituting them–
selves, one
is
more
in
need of P.R. than
ever. I'm sorry to see the line the
New
Republic
is taking. You want to be a bit
nearer to England to understand what
she's fighting for!
Sirs:
Wishing you every luck,
DUBLINER.
I read your sample copy, but
I
am op–
posed to all you stand for. That is, Trot–
skyism, Judaism, Romanism, capitalism,
Nazism, Fascism, reactionarism of all
kinds. I consider the above constitutes
most of our cannibalism. Russia is try–
ing to rid the country of them all. Marx,
Engels, Lenin and Stalin bitterly opposed
the
principles underlying
them all.
Mr. Webb and his wife seem to me to
be the
fairest
historians c.nd writers about
Russia of today. Communism a
new
civ–
ilization.
One cour.cry prohibiting robbery,
exploitation, graft, rich
parasites
whether
labor aristocrats or not. Labor aristocrats
are not tolerated any more than the ex–
ploiters. This is as it should be. In this
country the
labor aristocrats
are our worst
cannibals and reactionaries. Religion and
Fascism come next (Big Business ex-
ploiters)- Yours very truly,
W. THEO WooDWARD,
De Land, Florida.
