Research Technician position
The qualified person will engage in a range of research-related duties in the Neural Systems Laboratory. Duties include: cutting of brain tissue, staining, assays, preparation of buffers and other solutions; preparation of tissue for electron microscopy and scoping of electron microscopic sections. Ability to interact collegially with members of the lab, and willingness to help train students and research fellows is expected. The Technician will maintain records of lab orders, research notes and protocols and lab safety. Prior experience in neuroanatomy or pathology is desirable, but not prerequisite, and the qualified applicant will be trained. The position is ideal for a candidate with a Master’s degree or equivalent who wishes to develop a career in research, with the option to participate in projects that result in publication in professional journals.
