Denny Chen

I’m Denny. I joined the MSSP program at Boston University in Fall 2023. The program has helped me become more professional and build the skills I was looking for. The curriculum focuses on strengthening both research and communication, with plenty of opportunities to apply what we learn to real-world problems.

One of the core courses, Statistics Practicum, covers a wide range of practical topics that are highly relevant to the job market. A major advantage of the program is that it’s housed in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which offers strong support for research and access to cloud computing resources—both of which have been incredibly useful for my academic work.

BU CDS BuildingI’ve also enjoyed using the new CDS building, which includes personal study spaces and conference rooms. The CDS building is the heart of BU’s MSSP community—a true home base for students. It’s a place where you’ll always find fellow students working, collaborating, or just catching up between classes. The energy and resources in the CDS building make it one of the best parts of the MSSP experience. Beyond the core classes, I’ve had the flexibility to choose electives that match my interests.

Overall, the MSSP program provides a supportive and resource-rich environment—take advantage of all it offers!
