About Us
Here is some additional information from Dr. Vijay Kanabar, Faculty and Director of Academic Programs involving Project Management
Project management at Boston University Metropolitan College has a rich legacy—ours is one of the first programs of its kind to offer specializations both on campus and online. Experienced professors engage students in lab exercises, case studies, project simulations, and examination of theoretical and applied concepts, to help develop effective, customized project management skills. Our rigorous academic curriculum offers in-depth exploration of topics such as agile project management; project communications, mega-project governance; IT strategy and management; information systems; software development; distributed projects and systems; project planning and control; project management life cycle; methodologies of effective leadership and motivation; cost and risk management; and management of project quality and procurement. Students can obtain additional expertise with courses or certificates in health informatics, information security, enterprise risk management, and enterprise governance.
The excellence of our programs—from our faculty’s practice and research, to our curriculum and learning outcomes, to our support services to help students meet their educational, professional, and personal goals—is validated though our accreditation by PMI®-GAC, EPAS, and AACSB International.
We have full-time faculty who are committed to your success. If you are seeking to compete in public or private sectors—whether locally, regionally, nationally, or globally in international and multinational enterprises—as a qualified, successful project manager, we invite you to join our distinguished group of project management students and alumni.

Here is some additional information from Gerry Keegan, Faculty and Director of Academic Programs at Hanscom location on how students might benefit from a Boston University Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM), and why they might be interested in completing it.
- The GCPM may be applied towards a MS Project Management degree, a MS Administrative Studies degree, a MS Leadership degree, or with some modification, the MS Computer Information Systems degree.
- The GCPM program is excellent preparation for the PMP exam offered by the Project Management Institute, and Boston University offers a one-day complimentary PMP preparation course to GCPM students in May in conjunction with our Project Management in Practice conference.
- Students gain an employability edge, as executives have identified project management skills as critical for their current and future success.
- Going through the GCPM, students will develop skills in leadership, team building, communication, decision making, and negotiation.
- Project management skills obtained will be useful in many industries other than the military: manufacturing, business services, IT, finance and insurance, oil and gas, construction, utilities etc.
- Research indicates and upward trend in compensation for project professionals.
- Unparalleled job opportunities will abound in project management, including many international opportunities.
