MET IT has cloud resources available to create temporary virtual machines for faculty research. These virtual machines are customizable, with options for:

Operating System
Number of CPUs
Storage Size
Memory Size

Support Policy

MET IT provides access to the Research Computing VMs in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model. This means that MET IT is responsible for the following:

Providing consultation on virtual machine settings
Creating and supporting the functionality off the VM
Providing access to the VM

Software Support

Clients are responsible for the deployment and maintenance of any application they wish to use on their VM.

In the event of a software error, MET IT will be able to support any errors that are caused by their interactions with the MET IT infrastructure. All other software errors are the responsibility of the client and the software vendor.
