Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a communication platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file sharing, and application integration. Each department at MET has been given a Microsoft Teams group, and an associated Microsoft SharePoint site, to work together in the cloud.

Support Policy

MET IT is responsible for the following:

  • Automation for adding/removing members for onboarding/offboarding
  • Granting owner roles to authorized employees
  • Granting member roles to authorized employees on behalf of owners
  • Processing Microsoft Teams group creation requests
  • Guides and training for important functions

Requesting a Microsoft Teams Group

There may be instances where it makes sense to request a Microsoft Teams group to handle collaboration for a special team or group. If you would like to request a Microsoft Team group, contact us with the following information:

  • The proposed name of the group
  • Name(s)/Email(s) of the owners of the group
  • Name(s)/Email(s) of the members of the group

MET IT will notify you when the MS Teams group is created or if further information is needed.

When you receive your MS Teams group, you will also receive a Microsoft SharePoint site for documents, a group calendar, and a MS Teams group email for communication.
