Using the Drosophila neuromuscular junction, I am investigating synaptic dysfunction in schizophrenia during development and throughout adulthood. I am visualizing various synaptic elements and characterizing their abundance, degradation, and elimination in schizophrenia genetic backgrounds. Additionally, I am exploring schizophrenia symptoms of social withdrawal and impaired memory.
