I am part of the McCall lab where we study mechanisms of cell death and cell clearance in Drosophila melanogaster. My current research project is to create a full deletion of the phagocytic drpr (“Draper”) gene using CRISPR-Cas9 and observe the impacts of this deletion on Drpr protein production and any phenotypic changes.
