The Bradham lab is focused on understanding embryonic development from a systems level perspective. Development is arguably the most complex process any living organism undergoes during its life cycle, thus a sophisticated understanding of these events will require global knowledge of them. Aside from its intrinsically fascinating nature, understanding developmental mechanisms is important for prevention of birth defects, foundational for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and relevant to disease, especially cancer. The Bradham lab uses a combination of cellular, molecular, biochemical, computational, and systems-level approaches to pursue these studies.
