Terence M. Keane, Ph.D. is Director of the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)-Behavioral Sciences Division and Associate Chief of Staff for Research & Development at VA Boston Healthcare System. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Assistant Dean for Research at Boston University School of Medicine. Keane has published approximately 350 articles, books, and chapters on the assessment and treatment of PTSD. For the past 39 consecutive years his program of trauma research has been supported by federal funding agencies. In 2015 he was named the recipient of the John Blair Barnwell Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the highest national honor for those engaged in Clinical Research. He has served as President of many national and international societies and currently is President of the American Psychological Foundation. Keane resides in Brookline and Provincetown with his partner of 33 years to whom he’s been married since May 17, 2004, the first day permissible in the United States. He served on the Board of Fenway Health for ten years and for two years as President. Currently he is a Trustee of the Provincetown Art Association & Museum. He’s pleased to serve on this Task Force that’s so forward thinking for our academic community.
