Dr. Ann Zumwalt, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology in the School of Medicine. She runs the medical gross anatomy course for medical and graduate students as well as numerous clinical anatomy initiatives in the medical school. She is the chair of the Pre-Clerkship curriculum subcommittee of the School of Medicine and is actively involved in curriculum design in that school. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Anatomists and is very interested in training the medical educators of the future.
Ann joined this Task Force because she is interested in faculty issues, in recent years having been an active member of the BU Faculty Council and the BUSM Committee on Faculty Affairs. She has been the faculty liaison for BUMC Pride, the medical campus LGBTQ student group that includes members from the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, and Dental Medicine since 2011.
