From West:
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East to Exit 18, Allston/Cambridge.
Exit Left. Follow the signs to Cambridge to the second set of lights.
Turn right at the lights; this is Soldiers Field Road/Storrow Drive.
Exit at Kenmore Square. Follow Local Directions below. By bus,
take Mass. Turnpike to Exit 18. Exit right onto Cambridge Street.
At intersection of Cambridge St. and Brighton Ave. (fifth light),
take a hard left onto Brighton Ave., and follow it until it joins
Commonwealth Ave. Continue on Commonwealth Ave. all the way into Kenmore
Square. Buses can turn around here and head back up Commonwealth Ave.
3 blocks to the George Sherman Union, located at 775 Commonwealth
Ave. There will parking meters reserved for buses directly in front
of the Union.
From South:
Take I-93/Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) North to
Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on
Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Exit. Follow Local
Directions below. By bus, exit at Mass. Ave.
Stay on Mass. Ave. until it crosses Huntington, Boylston
and Commonwealth and then take a left onto Beacon Street
-- this will take you into Kenmore Square. Bear right
onto Comm. Ave. - the Sherman Union is located at 775
Comm. Ave., 3 blocks up on the right. There will parking
meters reserved for buses directly in front of the Union.
From North:
Take I-93 or Route 1 South to Boston. Exit onto
Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Continue on Storrow Drive to
the Kenmore Exit. Follow Local Directions below. By
bus, follow Rt. 3 across the bridge and exit at
Kneeland St. Turn right onto Kneeland Street (it will
turn into Stuart St.) and follow it to Park Square. At
Park Sq., you must turn right onto Charles St. (it runs
between Boston Common and Boston Garden). At first
intersection, turn left onto Beacon St. and follow it
into Kenmore Square. Bear right onto Commonwealth. Ave.
- the Sherman Union is located at 775 Comm. Ave., 3
blocks up on the right. There will parking meters
reserved for buses directly in front of the Union.
From the North Shore:
Take Route 1-A through the Sumner Tunnel. Follow
signs onto the Expressway North. Take the Back
Bay/Storrow Drive Exit, and follow signs onto Storrow
Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Exit.
Follow Local Directions below.
LOCAL DIRECTIONS from the Kenmore
Square/Commonwealth Avenue exit of Storrow
Drive:
At the first set of traffic lights, turn right onto
Beacon Street. You will immediately come to a fork; take
the right fork, which is Bay State Road. After three
blocks, you will come to a stop sign. Go one more block
and turn left. (There will be small parks on both
sides.) There will be a traffic light at the
intersection with Commonwealth Ave. Continue straight
across Commonwealth Ave. and turn left, reversing your
direction. Take your first right onto Hinsdale St. and
will see the entrance to the Warren Towers Garage
immediately on your right. The George Sherman Union is
located at 775 Commonwealth Ave. It will be on the
opposite side of the street and a couple of blocks west
(heading away from Kenmore Square).
By Public Transportation:
Boston University is located along the MBTA Green
line. From any downtown Green Line subway station, take
the "B" train heading outbound toward Kenmore Square.
(If you are traveling from North Station, take any train
to Park Street and transfer to a "B" train). After
Kenmore, the train will be above ground. Exit the train
at the third stop above ground (Boston University
Central). The George Sherman Union is located just west
at 775 Commonwealth Ave.
By Red Line:
Take the Red Line train to
Park Street Station; transfer to the Green Line "B"
Train.
By Blue Line (including Logan
Airport):
Take the Blue Line Train to
Government Center; transfer to the Green Line "B" Train.
By Orange
Line:
Take the Orange Line Train to
Downtown Crossing; follow the underground concourse to
the Green Line Park Street Station, then board the "B"
Train.
By Green Line:
From Lechmere, Science Park, North
Station, or Haymarket - Take any train to Government
Center; transfer to the "B" Train. From the Suburban "C"
(Cleveland Circle) or "D" (Riverside) Lines - Take any
train Inbound to Kenmore Square; change to the Outbound
platform and board the "B" Train. From the "E" (Heath
Street) Line - Take any train Inbound to Arlington
Station; change to the Outbound platform and board the
"B" Train.
