What is the origin of AI4ALL?

AI4ALL is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase diversity and inclusion in artificial intelligence. AI4ALL was founded by leading AI technologists including Fei-Fei Li, Chief AI Scientist at Google cloud, funded by key influencers including Melinda Gates and Jensen Huang and is led by Tess Posner, a social entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience working on job training and digital skills initiatives. Since the program was first piloted at Stanford in 2015, AI4ALL has created transformative impact for more than 1000 underrepresented youth and is tripling its impact in 2018 in partnership with Universities including Boston University, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley and companies like NVIDIA, Autodesk and Google.

What are the Boston University Program dates and times?

July 22nd to August 9th, 2019

9:00 am to 4:00 pm (M-F)

Who can apply?

All young women (or those who identify as such) currently in their sophomore or junior year of high school who live within 30 miles of Boston.

Is programming experience necessary?

No, all you need is a curiosity about AI and a desire to learn!

What is the cost of the program?

There is no tuition or application fee, but a non-refunable $100 registration fee is required of all students who attend the program.

Are there any other costs associated with the program?

Lunch is provided each days and all materials are included. Transportation is also covered for any scheduled field trips. However, students are responsible for their own travel to and from BU each day. Snacks are not provided, but students may bring their own snacks and eat them during scheduled breaks.

Does Boston University supply housing?

No, this is a commuter program. Dormitory accommodations are not available.
