Mark R. Galluzzo
In June of 2017, Mr. Galluzzo was awarded the National Intelligence Superior Service Medal by the then Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Senator Daniel Coats. This coveted award was presented in recognition of 25 years of sustained superior performance as the Chief of Intelligence for the First U.S. Coast Guard District. In this capacity, he provided daily oversight and management of all Coast Guard Intelligence operations in the Northeast U.S. These Intelligence efforts yielded numerous successes, including maritime narcotics seizures and disruptions of international human trafficking organizations, while supporting white collar criminal cases, enhanced fisheries conservation operations and rapid responses to natural and man-made disasters, such as Hurricane Sandy, the 9/11 Terror Attacks, and the Boston Marathon Bombing. He also advocated for, funded and fielded a “first of its kind,” Coast Guard Digital Forensics/Document and Media Exploitation facility. Upon his federal retirement in 2017, Mr. Galluzzo received the Coast Guard’s Distinguished Career Service Award. In 1994, he won the National Military Intelligence Association (NMIA) Admiral Billard Award as the “Top USCG Intelligence Professional”. He also achieved a U.S. Coast Guard Master of Intelligence Competency certification.
From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Galluzzo held marketing positions of increasing responsibility at Raytheon Company’s Missile Systems Division. His final position was Manager of the Division’s Marketing Research Center. Prior to his Raytheon employment, he served as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer (1982-1987). His active duty tours included at-sea experience with Naval Aviation Attack Squadron Thirty-Four (VA-34) , Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) and the aircraft carrier USS America (CV-66). In early 1996, he was selected for assignment to the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) sponsored Soviet Sea Power Education Program (SSEP). SSEP operated from the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center in Virginia Beach, VA.
Mr. Galluzzo’s educational accomplishments include a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategy from the Naval War College, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Bentley University, and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross. From 2013 to 2019, he served as a Docent for the International Museum of World War II where he provided educational tours for the general public, while specializing in tailored interactions with regional high school students and educators.
