- Identify and conduct outreach with strategic non-academic partners
- Match IGS faculty with the thematic needs of partners’ efforts
- Draft of policy briefs and other translational and media materials
- Provide letters of support for proposals and roll out the outreach and policy impact components of grants
- Consult city & state government representatives to identify climate/sustainability research needs
- Analyze city, state, or federal legislation to facilitate faculty commentary
- Organize events that bring researchers together with policymakers, industry, and non-profit organizations

Highlights
- In 2026, we worked with Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and MassVentures to present funding options to IGS faculty, organized a strategy session between MassCEC and BU public health researchers, and matched IGS faculty with the themes of the MassCEC/MAPC Resilience Playbook.
- In 2025, we supported the CATCH project on extreme heat to build relationships with US cities and produce materials friendly to city officials.
- In 2024, the CAFÉ Research Coordinating Center supported a training for climate-health researchers initiated by Research Translation Lab with 19 faculty from the United States, Australia, Bangladesh, Chile, Namibia, and Pakistan.
