Tanai Dawson

Research Fellow

Tanai Dawson is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Sustainability (IGS). A large focus on her work is on the Clean Energy and Environment Legacy Transition (CELT) Initiative and Visualizing Energy (VE) projects, a continuation of her student work done during her Masters program at BU. She received her BA and BS in Environmental Studies and Computer Science (’22) from Western Michigan University and her MA in Earth and Environment (’26) at Boston University. As a student, Tanai explored different avenues of merging her fields of computer science and environment together, often working with nonprofit environmental organizations to improve and manage data, communications and websites. Over time, she has built experience and expertise in environmental data analysis, web development and environmental advocacy. She is passionate about finding an intersection between the insights garnered from environmental data and real-world application that can improve sustainability initiatives. Outside of work, you can find her playing games on Discord with her friends and experimenting with new recipes.
