
Susiena Choi

Susiena Choi is an Office Assistant at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) and an undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences, pursuing a BA in Environmental Analysis and Policy. Her academic interests center on the intersection of human activity and environmental change, with a focus on using data and policy change to address global biodiversity loss, such as agricultural landrace restoration.
Before attending Boston University, Choi gained experience in as an intern at the UMass Civil and Environmental Engineering Lab, where she contributed to a wastewater treatment project and assisted graduate students with their research. Additionally, during a fellowship at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, she analyzed dolphin whistle spectrograms with a researcher in marine mammal conservation and collaborated with women professionals from various environmental fields.
At Boston University, Choi is an active member of Epsilon ETA, a co-ed professional environmental fraternity. Through this organization, she emphasizes the importance of shared dialogue to drive meaningful environmental change. Choi values the opportunity to engage with peers who share her passion for sustainability while building a strong professional network committed to environmental advocacy.
