Seongje Park, a 2026 Graduate Summer Fellow at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), is a PhD student in Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences. Park is conducting research on how β-carotene changes when placed within the strong light-matter coupling regime. More specifically, on how the ultrafast photophysics of the carotenoid changes.
His faculty advisor is Minjung Son (Assistant Professor, Chemistry, College of Arts & Sciences) and his project is titled “Characterizing Ultrafast Photophysics of β-Carotene under Strong Light-Matter Coupling.“
