Cay Freihofer
Advisory Board, IGS; Managing Partner, Emerald Bridge Capital
Cay Freihofer, an advisory board member for the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), started her career as an Analyst in JPMorgan’s oil and gas investment banking group in New York City after completing her undergraduate studies at Boston University’s School of Management. Freihofer graduated top of her class and completed a double concentration in Finance and Accounting as well as a minor in Economics. She joined Bank of America’s private equity arm in Charlotte, NC in 2008 and was hired to focus on the energy sector and investing across the energy value chain. In 2010, the principals of Bank of America’s private equity arm spun out of the bank and she was included in that spin-out group. Freihofer remained with that group, focused on energy investments through 2023, when she founded her own firm, Emerald Bridge Capital (d/b/a “FIC”). Freihofer founded FIC in order to build a best-in-class investment manager. FIC is focused on accelerating the development of strategic assets that serve societal utility needs. FIC believes in supporting an “all-of-the-above” energy future. FIC focuses on sectors across power and power use, including gas transmission, utilities and power, renewables, de-carbonization, downstream and communications.
